Para conocer las bacterias que habitan el Golfo de México y darles un potencial uso biotecnológico, realizamos cruceros oceanográficos en aguas del Golfo de México incluidas las diferentes estratificaciones de columna de agua (desde la superficie hasta profundidades de 3000 m) y sedimentos. El área de estudio a explorar abarca desde el norte del estado de Tamaulipas, hasta el sur del estado de Veracruz.
